Pediatric Services

As kids get older and start to lose their baby teeth, many parents wonder if the teeth are erupting correctly and about the right age for braces. While your child's teeth might appear to be straight, there are some early problems which raise red flags.

It is important that from an early age, children become accustomed to going to the dentist. This is so that the child gets used to the environment, and also has regular maintenance and oral hygiene appointments to prevent problems as they get older.

Early diagnoses and detection of dental decay or disease is paramount to the dental health of the child in adult life.

First Visit

When should a child’s first dental visit be? A child’s first dental visit should be when their first tooth erupts and no later than one year old. Early examination and initiating preventive care will protect a child’s smile now and in the future. We want to be the dental home for your child, so we can continue to maintain your child’s good oral health.

If your child has not seen a dentist before, please give us a call so we may prepare you and your child for the first visit. We invite you to take your child on a tour of the dental office in advance of your appointment. This will create a sense of familiarity when the real appointment rolls around. Before your child’s first visit, ask us about the procedures to expect, so there are no surprises. Talk to your child about what to expect, and build excitement as well as understanding about the upcoming visit.

After your first visit, we will schedule a six-month check-up appointment. It is especially important that children have semi-annual check-ups. The reasons are simple: Changes occur in a child’s mouth faster than in an adult mouth; while new teeth are forming, the jawbone continues to grow.

Dental Sealants

These are placed on the surfaces of the permanent teeth on children usually from the age of six years old onwards (when the first permanent teeth erupt). This reduces the risk of early decay in the pits and fissures of the permanent teeth.

Tooth brushing & Children Mouth Guards

Tooth brushing technique and instruction along with dietary advice is a major part of children’s dentistry at the regular checkups. We also provide mouth guards for children to prevent any injury

Space Maintainers

Space maintainers can be very important to your child’s long-term oral health. If your child loses a baby tooth early through guidance eruption, decay, or injury, his or her other teeth could shift and begin to fill the vacant space. When your child’s permanent teeth emerge, there’s not enough room for them. The result is crooked or crowded teeth and difficulties with chewing or speaking.

Space maintainers are used to hold the spot left by the lost tooth until the permanent tooth emerges. The space maintainer might be a band or a temporary crown attached to one side of the vacant space. Later, as the permanent tooth emerges, the device is removed.

Our Happy Customers

"As excruciating as going to the dentist is, I always look forward to my visits here. Dr. Gregory has been my dentist for a few years now and he is absolutely amazing at what he does. Linda, his sister, who manages the office is awesome and accommodating. Highly recommended!"

"Dr. Gregory is truly the best. He (and his office manager / sister Linda) are very pleasant to work with, but most importantly, he is extremely thoughtful and someone who I trust completely in a field in which that can be very hard to find. I never feel that he is trying to "up-sell" some procedure that is unnecessary, and in fact on several occasions has recommended against certain cosmetic procedures that others had recommended. He really is a trusted "dental consultant" (if that makes sense?)- and always willing to offer his time when needed. Don't hesitate to go to him!"

"I've been going to Dr Gregory for ten years and he's still the best in his field . I left for a year due to insurance changes and was miserable. The office is super clean . Linda is fantastic ."
